Hydrated Lime

UNICARB TCH200 is Technical Grade Calcium Hydroxide, usually named Hydrated Lime or Slaked Lime, Hydrated Lime UNICARB TCH200 is manufactured and tested according to AS1672/1997 with Available Lime Index as Calcium Hydroxide more than 90%, as Calcium Oxide more than 70% and pH > 12.

CONSTRUCTION

UNICARB TCH200 can be used as a filler in building materials such as asphalt, concrete, brick to improve the yield strength and stabilizer. UNICARB TCH200 can be added to concrete mix used to make block and other concrete products in order to produce a denser, more water-resistant product. By adding greater plasticity to the mix, UNICARB TCH200 also produces concrete products with more precise edges and corners, improves reflectivity, and reduces loss through breakage. UNICARB TCH200 shows its versatility and beauty when used for interior and exterior plaster or render. ASTM C206 Standard Specification for Finishing Hydrated Lime requires that finishing lime be free of any chemical or physical characteristics that would cause flaws in the plaster

WATER & WASTEWATER TREATMENT

UNICARB TCH200 is supplied to the water treatment industries for softening, pH adjustment or coagulation and removal of impurities. Hydrated Lime UNICARB TCH200 is a highly efficient pH increase agent. It is also used as a primary coagulant for the treatment of industrial waste streams and will contribute to the clarity of the water. In addition, it is suitable for use as sludge stabilizer, as well as sludge conditioner for industrial and domestic waste activated sludge. When UNICARB TCH200 is used along with an elevated temperature in wastewater, it can actively kill some bacteria and germs. This in turn can help clarify the water as well as reduce odors. Because of these reasons and others, UNICARB TCH200 is an excellent product to use to stabilize sludge and condition activated sludge.

GASES TREATMENT

Hydrated Lime UNICARB TCH200 plays a significant role in the removal of pollutants from the flue-gas streams of coal-fired power plants, incinerators and industrial facilities. UNICARB TCH200 are used in the treatment of pollutants such as sulfur dioxide (SO2), hydrogen chloride (HCl), hydrogen fluoride (HF), sulfur trioxide (SO3), Arsenic (As), Selenium (Se), fine particulates and mercury (Hg).

In wet FDG processes, these products are slurried with water and sprayed into a flue-gas scrubber vessel. The acidic gases, normally SO2 and HCl, are absorbed into the water where they chemically react with the hydrated lime and Ground Calcium Carbonate. The resulting products, primarily calcium sulfite, can then be oxidized to produce calcium sulfate, a salable gypsum byproduct.
